About the Photographer

Welcome to Wild World Photos, I'm Brian Walker and I became involved in nature photography and underwater photography when I first moved to Gainesville in North Florida. I was excited to move to the North Florida area because I remembered reading an article in National Geographic Magazine about north Florida's beautiful crystal clear freshwater Springs.

When my wife and I arrived in Gainesville and started visiting the spring in the region, we were not disappointed. We would visit Florida's large and powerful freshwater springs on the weekends. I would freedive in the springs using only my breath with my mask, snorkel, and fins. I would push myself to dive deeper into the clear water and fully experience the awesome power and beauty of the springs.

My freediving experiences drove me to pursue underwater and all nature photography because I wanted to share my unique perspective. Since picking up the camera, I feel very fortunate and I have photographed many amazing animals and places both above and below the water. Some of my most memorable subjects have included numerous manatees and two large and primitive-looking snapping turtles that I photographed underwater.
